Description
In work environments that are innovative and creative, where people engage in productive interaction, and have fun working together, there is generally a high degree of trust. When work is not getting done due to interpersonal conflict, office politics, or apathy, these problems can usually be traced to a breakdown in trust. A lack of trust also creates feelings of annoyance, fear, anger, frustration, resentment, or resignation. The element of trust underpins the quality of every relationship, every communication, every project, and every effort in which we are engaged. It is not an elusive quality that you either have or you don’t have, but rather an actionable asset that must be cultivated to be achieved. This course describes trust, provides strategies in how to build and maintain strong trusting relationships with others, insight into how to repair trust when it is broken, and approaches for confronting someone you distrust.
