Description
COURSE WILL DEPLOY IN FY22.
This course addresses those skills and competencies most basic and fundamental to the the Contracting Career Field. These include general principles, such as an overview of the acquisition process and how to research the regulations, as well as an introduction to fundamental soft skills and professional skills that will serve these acquisitions professional at almost any point in their career. The Contract Foundational Skills curriculum (CON 1100V) is required to be taken prior to Pre-Award (CON 1200V), Award (CON 1300V), and Post-Award (CON 1400V).

  • Pre-work required (approx. 1.5 hours) / Walk-ins NOT authorized. Pre-work must be completed not later than the Thursday prior to the class start date.
  • Virtual classes are conducted via MS Teams.
  • Students are required to test connectivity with DAU IT prior to the class start date.
  • DAU does not reimburse student phone/internet charges.

  • CON 1100V is comprised of 8 units of instruction. These units are either live (virtual instructor-led) sessions or individual, self-paced learning activities. Depending on the Section/Offering of CON 1100V you register for, the scheduling of the live sessions may differ somewhat (e.g., U04 being taught in week 3 vs. week 2). Students must register for the CON 1100V offering that is most conducive to their schedule.
  • Times for the Live (virtual instructor-led) units of instruction are as follows:
    Week 1: Unit 01 Introduction to CON 1100V, 3 hours, 45 min
    Week 2 or 3 (depending on class): Unit 04 Understanding Regulations, ~25 hours spread over 4.5 days
    Week 4: Unit 07 Situational Assessment, 4 hours, 45 min
  • Times for the Individual, Self-Paced units of instruction are as follows:
    Unit 00 Course Pre-work, 1.5 hours
    Unit 02 The Contracting Life Cycle, 4 hours, 15 min
    Unit 03 Contracting Principles, 2 hours, 15 min
    Unit 05 Parts of a Solicitation and Contract, 1.5 hours
    Unit 06 Guiding Principles, 2 hours, 15 min
    Unit 08 Final Exam, 1 hour
