Description
Workshop attendees will be introduced to the fundamental aspects of intellectual property and data rights inherent in US Government contracts, along with the considerations for developing an IPDR Strategy. Building upon the base knowledge, an in-depth examination into the pre- and post-award strategy and management will be explored. Attendees will apply knowledge gained to a major case study to clarify and reinforce concepts discussed. Alternatively, attendees from a specific Program Office or program team can use the workshop to develop an IPDR Strategy specific to their program.
The Critical Performance Behaviors expected to result from this workshop are:
  • The ability to assess and differentiate the rights obtainable under various forms of licenses, and strategically ascertain and plan for the impacts to the program prior to execution.
  • Review the conformity of deliverables to the requirements set forth in the DFARS clauses and the assertion tables, so as to pursue, when necessary, corrective action.
  • Proactively manage, in a pre- and post-award environment, the data rights provided to the program and that which may arise as a result of contract performance.
