SBP 301 Small Business for Senior Leaders
 Description
This course prepares professionals for senior leadership positions in small business, showing them how their roles and responsibilities will evolve as they lead at higher levels of the organization. Through realistic, scenario-based learning, students work individually and in teams to practice strategic thinking with regard to how their small business office aligns with and supports their agency/organization’s mission. They will analyze how to manage their office to better achieve this mission and address typical problems. They will also practice influencing skills that will allow them to shape small business policy and promote small business both internally and externally to DoD. Through a series of simulations, students will practice applying key senior leadership competencies, including strategic thinking, problem-solving, business acumen, accountability, and influencing, to real-world acquisition issues. Course work will enable students to contribute effective solutions to real acquisition problems and develop real products that can be used on the job.
