This Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) course provides an overview of subcontracting as a means of maximizing small business opportunities, and the SBP’s role in advising on subcontracting requirements. It covers basic subcontracting concepts, such as:
  • The types of subcontracting plans and reports, and who is responsible for each
  • Applicable regulations
  • Electronic systems
  • The importance of market research in identifying subcontracting opportunities
  • Encouraging and shaping a subcontracting strategy during pre-solicitation
  • How subcontracting can increase small business utilization
  • Assessing subcontracting plans
  • Evaluating small business participation via subcontracting
  • Subcontractor compliance
  • How a small business can become a subcontractor
After learning key concepts, students apply them to job-relevant situations and get feedback and remediation from instructors.
