| Description |
This Online Training (OLT) course is designed to provide the learner with the needs to understand the development of stakeholder requirements and the importance of getting those requirements developed correctly in a systematic way. Requirements should be concise and easily understood so that as development progresses, major changes are not required, as this will cause major increases in cost and delays in schedule. The stakeholder's role is key in the development of these requirements. The field needs to be prepared to quickly react to the rapidly moving threat environment, causing changes to the requirements; therefore, there is a strong need for understanding the requirements management process.

The typical learner is a member of the Acquisition workforce in the ETM functional area. The learner should be a college graduate and ETM-certified at the practitioner level with a technical degree. Their on-the-job skillset is in a technical DoD (Department of Defense) acquisition career, although other acquisition disciplines are not excluded. Their primary objectives in taking this course are to understand System Engineering concepts and application of System Engineering in their current DoD acquisition environment.
