Defense Acquisition professionals live in a world characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity, VUCA for short. Practically speaking, this means circumstances change all the time. We can rarely predict what will happen, and frequently don’t have the information we need to feel secure in doing so. How do you feel after hearing this? If you’re like most people, you’ll sum it up in one word: STRESSED! This course is about developing the skill to maintain a state of equanimity (practicing simple, meditative techniques to stay calm, clear, and connected) regardless of the circumstances. The skill itself is called “mindfulness,” the ability to be aware, without judgment, of our thoughts and feelings in any given moment, and to be able to choose the ones that will lead to the outcomes we desire.
This is an Online Training (OLT) Course. MOSAIC is the only self-paced leader development program developed exclusively for Defense Acquisition professionals. All courses provide leadership learning and development opportunities specifically tailored by DoD subject matter experts in all functional disciplines to address Defense Acquisition problems within a Defense Acquisition setting.
