This virtual instructor led (VILT) course provides foundational knowledge, training and skill development on the placement and administration of contract property with special attention given to the administration of the Contractor’s Property Management System for contract property, the disposal of contract property, as well as the identification of risks inherent in such placement. Students will explore pertinent Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), DFARS Procedures, Guidance and Information (PGI), DoD instructions and manuals, as well as other relevant regulations/guidance. The course will take students through the contract formation process, identification of specific contract document content pertaining to contract property, administration requirements such as contract receipt and review, contractor procedure reviews, property loss investigation and disposal processes. Finally, it is both useful and highly recommended for all Contracting Officers and/or contracting personnel involved with Government property.

This course is primarily targeted to Industrial Property Management Specialists and Industrial Property Clearance Specialists seeking foundational knowledge in Industrial Contract Property Management and others assigned duties relative to the Government contract property administration such as Contracting Officers and Contracting Officer Representatives. It is also beneficial as a refresher for journeyman level property administration personnel as well as designated Property Administrators (PA) and Plant Clearance Officers (PLCO).
