CMC 235 Selection and Use of Indices

Restrictions:
This course is restricted to DoD government civilian and military students only. DCMA students have priority in this course. Non-DCMA students may be placed in registered status if there are seats available or added to waitlist if there are no available seats.

This virtual instructor-led (VILT) course addresses key aspects of price indices and common sources of indices, as well as how and when to use them as applied to cost elements. The focus is on problem-solving and inquiry-based learning activities that require students to formulate and test ideas, draw conclusions and inferences, and pool and convey knowledge in a collaborative learning environment. Students will be exposed students to price indices and their role in adjusting prices/costs to compensate for inflation or deflation in order to facilitate comparisons and other analyses.

  • Course includes assignments performed independently within the timeframe.
  • Virtual classes are conducted via MS Teams.
  • Students are required to test connectivity with DAU IT prior to the class start date.
