WSE-005, Systems Engineering Planning, is a DAU open enrollment workshop that provides students with an overview of topics covered in the DoD Systems Engineering Plan (SEP) Outline. The workshop provides a foundation for effective technical planning and development of an executable SEP for an acquisition program. This half-day course covers the major topics of Program Technical Definition and Program Technical Management in the SEP.
  • This workshop can be expanded to explore SEP topics in more detail for your acquisition program's systems engineering planning activities.
  • Objectives
    Understand the use and contents of the DoD Systems Engineering Plan for an acquisition program.
    Target Attendees
    This workshop is open to all DoD employees across all functional areas. From intern to senior-level management, everyone benefits from this workshop and its collaborative, open-discussion environment.
    None; however for participants who have no systems engineering background, it is encouraged to complete ACQ 1010 Fundamentals of Systems Acquisition Management and CLE 003 Technical Reviews prior to this training. Also, review DoDI 5000.88, Engineering of Defense Systems.
