The Joint Contingency Contracting Course, CON 8300V, provides an in-depth, comprehensive assessment of the skills needed to provide contract support to joint forces across the full spectrum of military, disaster relief and humanitarian operations. CON 8300V is delivered in a virtual environment resembling the traditional classroom learning experience. Students work both individually and in teams to complete learning activities. This course includes hands-on exercises and case studies which focus on the unique aspects of contingency contracting, such as Ethical Decision Making, Authorities and Structure, Contingency Funding, Contingency Contracting Planning, Manual Contracting Processes, Execution of Appropriate Contractual Instruments, Contract Administration, Cross-Cultural Awareness, Domestic Emergency Response and more. CON 8300V culminates with teams completing a facilitated capstone learning exercise in support of combat, post-conflict, contingency, humanitarian and disaster relief operations to demonstrate an understanding of contingency contracting and OCS principles. This course provides the skills and strategies needed to succeed in a fast-paced and ever-changing joint contingency contracting environment. It is recommended for all personnel indirectly or directly involved in Operational Contract Support (OCS) including Logistics Planners, Contingency Contracting Officers, Contracting Specialists, Contracting Officer’s Representatives, and requirement owners. CON 8300V should be completed prior to taking the Advanced Contingency Contracting Course, CON 8400V and is the core course for the Foundational Contingency Contracting Credential, CCON 014A.
