Description
This closed book, comprehensive PM Certification Exam covers the learning objectives from ACQ 0030/1010/2020/2030 and PMT 0140/2570. Successful completion of this exam is a requirement to achieve the new DoD PM Practitioner Certification. Exam is graded on a pass/fail basis, with a minimum passing score of 70%.

Restrictions:
  • This exam is restricted to DoD acquisition workforce (DAW) government civilian and military only.
  • Candidates should be within six (6) months of meeting the minimum certification experience (3-1/2 years relevant acquisition experience with evidence of demonstrated proficiency in PM competencies.
Recommended Prerequisites:
  • PMT 4800V PM Practitioner Certification Exam Prep Course prior to first exam attempt to increase the chance of success and for any examinee who fails the PM Practitioner certification exam on their first attempt.
  • Successful completion of all academic requirements for Practitioner certification.
Additional Information:
  • Exam:
    • The PMT 4890V exam is delivered by a third-party Exam proctor service provider: Pearson VUE.
    • Two-hour exam duration encompasses all “seat time” including: exam intro, tutorial, 100-question exam, breaks, and any pre-submission review.
    • Register for the exam by clicking the "Apply for this Course" button above.
    • Once approval granted in your agency Training Authorization System (TAS), an “Authorization to Test” email will be sent to the candidate from Pearson VUE with instructions on how to schedule the exam.
    • Candidates will choose either to take the exam remotely or at a Pearson VUE Test Center.
    • It is highly recommended candidates schedule their exam at a Pearson VUE Authorized Test Center versus taking the exam remotely.
    • It is anticipated most candidates will be able to take the PMT 4890V Exam at a Pearson VUE Test Center within commuting distance from their home of record; however, in the event no test site is available within commuting distance and if testing remotely is not a viable option, then the candidate must ensure travel authorization is approved prior to scheduling the exam.
    • Individuals who fail the exam will have the opportunity (w/approval from their supervisor and their DACM) to re-take the exam no earlier than 30 days after the preceding attempt, with no more than three attempts in a 12-month period.
    • After a first unsuccessful exam attempt, unless the individual has already completed PMT 4800V, PM Practitioner Certification Exam Prep Course, the DoD Components may require that the individual take PMT 4800V before attempting the exam again.
    • Examinees who choose to take the exam virtually must conduct a system check prior to the day of the exam.
