Cost realism analysis is the process of independently reviewing and evaluating specific elements of each offeror’s proposed cost estimate to determine if the estimate is unrealistically low. In this Virtual Instructor Led Course (VILT), you will learn why it is essential to recognize proposed costs that are unrealistically low. You will understand the integral role of cost analysis and price analysis and how those analyses differ from a cost realism analysis. You will also learn the role of a price realism analysis and when you should conduct a price realism analysis.

Much of the class time is spent learning how to conduct an effective cost or price realism analysis. Protests are always a risk, especially when the award is based on a cost or price realism analysis. For that reason, you will learn practical, effective steps you can take to avoid protests and to successfully defend your team’s decision, if necessary.
