This virtual instructor led training (VILT) course picks up from the fundamentals and applications courses by emphasizing the application of processes, techniques, and estimate interpretation throughout the development of a Life Cycle Cost Estimate. The course addresses a more advanced level of estimate definition and planning, data collection, data normalization, formulation techniques, review, presentation, and documentation. More advanced parametric, analogy, expert opinion, non-parametric analysis, and cost improvement curves cost estimating techniques are described and practiced. Computations are done using spreadsheets and automated cost estimating tools.

  • Competence with Microsoft Excel and in algebra along with the completion of BCF 221, BCF 225, CLB 026, CLB 030, CLB 035, CLB 038, CLB 042, and CLE 035 prior to registration is recommended.
  • Participants must provide and be familiar with a scientific calculator.
  • Pre-work required (approx. 2 hours) / Walk-ins NOT authorized. Pre-work must be completed not later than the Thursday prior to the class start date.
