You will learn how to use interest-based negotiation (IBN) techniques to reach mutually beneficial agreements with contractors, internal departments, colleagues, and other stakeholders. IBN focuses on finding creative, integrative solutions to satisfy each party's interests and needs so that the best possible negotiated outcomes will result. The credential includes interactive and dynamic "hands-on" negotiating exercises so you can apply collaborative, problem-solving techniques to realistic acquisition challenges. You will learn how to effectively plan for negotiations by understanding contractor motivations and prioritizing negotiating leverage. A bonus of completing this credential is you will be better prepared to negotiate with others in your own personal and professional relationships!
