Description

The Program Protection credential enhances the acquisition professional’s ability to prevent, detect, and respond to program protection challenges through:

Providing an understanding of security threats, vulnerabilities, risks, cost-benefit risk trade-offs, and required mitigations for DoD systems.
Training on the three key elements of program protection including protection of information, critical technologies and mission critical functions.
Providing the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to implement effective DoD system protections through cybersecurity, anti-tamper, and supply chain risk management countermeasures.
Training on program protection (PP) and System Security Engineering (SSE) disciplines with emphasis on exercises including scenarios to accomplish PP planning and SSE actions to conduct Critical Program Information (CPI) and Trusted Systems and Networks (TSN) analyses.
Training on how to accomplish analysis of risks to the supply chain and detailing the requirements for acquisition program protection documents such as the Program Protection Plan, Cybersecurity Strategy, and security plans.

By earning this credential:

Serve as a core member of a System Security IPT.
Identify CPI, mission critical functions and mission critical components.
Preparation and execution of program protection plans, cybersecurity strategies, anti-tamper plans, and supply chain risk management plans.
Support system threat assessments, vulnerability identification, security risk analysis, and security test and evaluation.
Provide SSE subject matter expertise in the system engineering technical review (SETR) process and through each adaptive acquisition framework pathway.
