Description
Develop the critical skills required in acquiring major systems within the Federal Acquisition Regulation part 34, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) part 234 and the DoD 5000 series. Acquisition workforce members who work in contracting will learn the general principles of system acquisition, acquisition strategies, legal considerations, and specialized aspects unique to major systems procurement. Expand your knowledge about the middle tier of acquisition and its significance in accelerating technology deployment for the U.S. military. Gain a comprehensive understanding of the Defense systems acquisition process, encompassing Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) and learn about the planning, programming, budgeting and execution process and DoD 5000 series policies. You’ll also increase your knowledge of procurement fraud indicators, Defense Production Act priorities, organizational conflicts of interest, competition requirements, legal considerations, and Other Transaction Authority.
