CERTIFICATION STANDARDS & CORE PLUS DEVELOPMENT GUIDE
AUDITING   LEVEL III
Type of Assignment  Representative Activities
Auditor  Supervises, provides subject matter expertise, and/or acts as liaison for contracting entities in the conduct of contract audit services to ensure the government is paying fair prices for what it buys. Specifically, we concentrate on audits of contractor financial records and systems, management reports, and its controls, policies, procedures and practices.
 
Core Certification Standards (required for DAWIA certification)
 Acquisition Training  ACQ 101  Fundamentals of Systems Acquisition Management
 Functional Training   Depending on which Level II mandatory Functional Training course was completed, complete the other course below:
  AUD 230  Cost Accounting Standards
  Or
  AUD 260  Statistical Sampling (R)
  AND
  Complete an additional training elective from the training electives listed for DAWIA Level II Functional Training
 Education   Entry below GS-09: Same as Level 1
  Entry at GS-09: Same as Level 1 AND
  2 full years of graduate education leading to a master’s degree in accounting, auditing, or related field such as business administration or finance; or
  1 full year of professional accounting, auditing, or related experience
 Experience 4 years of contract auditing experience with at least 2 years of contract auditing. Must also complete 1 year in a supervisory or developmental position within an acquisition career field.

1 The Core Certification Standards section lists the training and/or education and experience REQUIRED for certification at this level for this career field within 24 months of assignment.

6 Workforce members assigned to the positions(s) listed in the Unique Position Training Standards section MUST meet these training standard(s) within 6 months of assignment.
19 Workforce members assigned to the supervisory positions(s), MGT 250 is required within 90 days and a refresher class is required every 3 years. MGT 250 is required within 4 months of assignment. AUD 460 and AUD 470 must be completed within 2 years.
20 Workforce members assigned to the positions(s) listed in the Unique Position Training Standards section should meet the training standard(s) identified within 90 days and the other courses within 2 years.
